REPORT: Keenan Allen suffers suspected torn ACL vs. Kansas City

To this point, everything has gone incredibly well for the San Diego Chargers in the season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs. Well, almost everything.

In the second quarter, Keenan Allen suffered what appeared to be a non-contact injury. As he lay on the field for a few minutes, he seemed to be in tremendous pain and was later carted off the field.

Not long after, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported that the injury is a major one and team officials suspect it could be a torn ACL.

That would be devastating news for the team and for Allen, who missed eight games last season with a lacerated kidney. If it is a torn ACL, Allen would miss the remainder of the season.

Though the Chargers have looked great today, injuries slowed the team immensely last season. Should the team defeat Kansas City, the mood will still be quite somber in the locker room due to the news concerning Allen.

Replays were shown of Allen being carted off the field and he was in obvious agony. It was a scene that was difficult to watch.
