Report: Junior Galette's season again ended by torn Achilles'

For the second straight year, Washington Redskins defensive end Junior Galette’s season is over before it could start thanks to a torn Achilles’.

NFL Network first reported that the defensive end tore an Achilles’ again, and it was later reported that this time he injured the right one. Last year’s injury was to his left leg.

ESPN says the injury occurred Sunday while Galette, 28, was performing football drills.

Galette joined the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2010 and developed into a starter by 2013 and 2014, when he racked up 22 sacks in two seasons. He signed a four-year, $41.5 million contract extension in September 2014, but two allegations of off-field violence led the Saints to release him in July 2015.

A week later, he signed with the Redskins, and the next month he tore his Achilles’ in training camp. Washington signed him again in March but may never get to see him return to form as one of the league’s better pass rushers.
