Report: Detroit Lions to hold two training camp practices at local high schools

Most of the Detroit Lions' training camp practices will be held at the team's headquarters and training facilities in Allen Park, but a source told Kyle Meinke of MLive.com that the team will hold two practices at local high schools.

The Lions will reportedly take the field at Novi High School during the first week of practices, before heading to Dearborn Edsel Ford High School later in the summer. Last summer, the Lions held training camp practices at Wayne State University and Ford Field to mix things up a bit. The reasoning behind this is to offer fans more opportunities to see the team up close, Lions head coach Jim Caldwell told MLive.com last year.

It also helps the team prepare for a hectic schedule. Meinke points out that the Lions play six late games in 2015. He also notes that they travel to the West Coast twice (at San Diego, Week 1; at Seattle, Week 4) and to London once ("at" Kansas City, Week 8).
