Report: Cowboys, Bryant fail to agree to extension prior to opener

The Dallas Cowboys and wide receiver Dez Bryant did not reach terms on a contract extension by Bryant's self-imposed deadline, according to NFL.com.

Bryant, who is in a contract year, addressed the talks earlier in the week. The Pro Bowler pointed out that his mind was strictly on Sunday's regular-season opener against San Francisco, according to multiple reports.

"It's the only thing I'm focused on," he said, according to ESPN.com. "All the other stuff is going to take care of itself, I promise."

Bryant had said at the time that he planned to cut off negotiations during the season, according to multiple reports, in order to focus on his play.

"Truthfully, it's been great talks," he said, according to The Dallas Morning News. "But still, I'm not really into that right now."

Bryant has played for the Cowboys since he was drafted in the first round in 2010. He has 293 career receptions for 4,104 yards. He has 40 career receptions for touchdowns.
