Report: Browns QB Josh McCown out with shoulder injury, Cody Kessler to start

Browns quarterback Josh McCown will not start Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins after sustaining a shoulder injury during Sunday’s game against the Ravens, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

McCown was starting his first game of the season after Robert Griffin III was hurt in the opener. Griffin could reportedly miss the rest of the season with a broken bone in his shoulder.

McCown, who started eight games for Cleveland last year, threw for 260 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions, and never left the game despite sustaining the injury.

He will be replaced by rookie Cody Kessler, a 23-year-old third-round pick out of USC.

The Browns are 0–2 for the season after losses to the Eagles and Ravens. They will play the Dolphins in Miami at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
