Report: Bears RB Matt Forte expects to play vs. Packers

The Chicago Bears could get a big lift on Thursday, if starting running back Matt Forte is ready to return from a knee injury. According to Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune, we can expect to see him on the field against the Green Bay Packers.

Forte has sat out the last three games. Before that, he was averaging over 100 yards of offense per game.

"It’s not really a lot of fun watching games and doing all that and not being able to help your team win," Forte said, per Dan Wiederer of Chicago Tribune. "I'm not really used to doing that. So it’ll be fun to get back out there."

Rookie running back Jeremy Langford has emerged as a pretty impressive player in Forte's absence. Although he was bottled up in last week's loss to the Denver Broncos, Langford produced over 320 yards of offense in back-to-back wins before that.

It'll be interesting to see how the Bears split touches between Langford and Forte moving forward. They are both versatile backs with soft hands, so maybe Chicago can find a way to get them both on the field at the same time.
