Redskins GM Scot McCloughan praises Capitals fan base
You can add Washington Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan to the group of DC sports figures who have attended a Washington Capitals playoffs game.
He was quite impressed with what he witnessed in the Capitals' Game 4 victory over the New York Rangers.
“I leaned over to [my wife] and I said, ‘Jess,’ I said ‘this is what it’s about,’ ”McCloughan said in an interview with Grant Paulsen and Danny Rouhier of 106.7 The Fan. ” ‘This is what you’re gonna feel on Sundays. It’s gonna be passion, it’s gonna be fans, it’s gonna be cheering, it’s gonna be playoff-stuff.’

McCloughan and his wife had the opportunity to to hang out with another DC sports star as well.
“And it was very cool, because Bryce Harper was in the box with me,” McCloughan went on. “And to talk to him after three home runs, I told him ok, you win the day, I understand, the draft doesn’t matter. But what a quality guy…. Just to see the passion; you know, he’s wearing a Caps jersey, he’s wearing a D.C. hat. Just seeing him involved in the community, and just to know that the fan base is just out of control — and I love it. I love it. And I want the Redskins fans to feel that.”
McCloughan will now turn his focus to the incoming rookie class he just drafted as the Redskins get geared up to begin their rookie minicamp.
