Ravens TE Heap briefly injured by head-on hit

Baltimore Ravens tight end Todd Heap briefly left Sunday's game against New England after a head-on hit from Patriots safety Brandon Meriweather.

Heap returned later in the first half.

Heap jumped to make a catch in the middle of the field midway through the second quarter and was being brought down by Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo when Meriweather hit the receiver head-first. Heap went to the turf and was tended to by medical staff before walking off.

The Patriots were penalized 15 yards for a personal foul.

There was no announcement on Heap's condition, and he returned later in the half.

Heap's also had a 17-yard touchdown earlier in the second quarter.
