Rams CB Troy Hill arrested on suspicion of DUI

Rams cornerback Troy Hill was arrested on suspicion of DUI on Saturday morning in Los Angeles after crashing his car on a freeway.

Hill told California Highway Patrol officers he was heading to practice, CBS-2 reported.

The team announced Hill would be inactive for Sunday's game against Miami.

“We are aware of the incident involving CB Troy Hill that occurred Saturday morning,” the Rams said in a statement. “As it is an ongoing legal matter and we are still gathering information, we will have no further comment at this time.”

Hill, a second-year player out of Oregon, has been a surprising contributor to the Los Angeles defense this season, ranking fourth on the team with 38 tackles. He started four games at cornerback in place of E.J. Gaines or Trumaine Johnson.

Hill also was arrested in December 2013 after a domestic violence incident during his collegiate career at Oregon. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of menacing and was sentenced to three years of probation and 70 hours of community service.
