Pro Football Focus says Tampa Bay had two of the best RBs in the NFL

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a stellar one-two punch at running back in Doug Martin and Charles Sims. But exactly how good were they? Well, according to Pro Football Focus' rankings, the Buccaneers actually had two of the best running backs in the NFL in their backfield in 2015.

As Ryan Jenson of Pro Football Focus explains, Martin forced 67 missed tackles (ranking him first in the site's elusive rating), and his grade of 87.8 was the best among running backs. Yes, even better than the NFL's rushing champ, Adrian Peterson.

As for Sims, well, he was graded on the same level with the likes of Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams, earning a 84.2 overall grade from PFF.

When you really look at the stats, this actually isn't as surprising as you may think. Martin was second in the NFL with 1,402 yards and six rushing touchdowns. Sims on the other hand, had 529 rushing yards, but also had 51 receptions for 561 yards and four touchdowns.

While Martin is set to become a free agent in 2016, barring the two sides working out a new deal, if he's brought back, Tampa Bay will enter next year with one of the most talented backfields in the NFL.
