NFL preseason: Top moments from Saturday's games

Although Saturdays are usually reserved for college football (Week 0 has begun!), there are still a handful of NFL games on the docket this week.

Saturday's schedule featured 2020 MVP runner-up Josh Allen taking the field for the Buffalo Bills against the Green Bay Packers, and he looked the part of a franchise quarterback.

Also on the schedule for Saturday is the defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers squaring off against the Houston Texans, along with four other games later in the day.

Check out the top moments from Saturday's preseason action:

Seattle Seahawks 27, Los Angeles Chargers 0

Defense equals offense

It's always nice when one side of the ball helps the other.

Got 'em, coach!

Alex Collins – nasty.

And then, Collins rewarded himself with a score.

Sticky palms

Joshua Palmer wasn't gonna let this one out of his grasp.

Denver Broncos 17, Los Angeles Rams 12

Welcome back

Von Miller missed the entire 2020 season for the Broncos with a ruptured Achilles, so it's a good sign to see him back on the field wreaking havoc in the preseason.

Miller's got help

Von isn't the only terror on defense for Denver.

On the money

Fresh off being named the starting quarterback for Week 1, Teddy Bridgewater showed why the Broncos have so much faith in him with a perfect pass to Courtland Sutton for a touchdown.

Here's one more angle.

The night ended in a 17-12 win for the Broncos.

Mike-ing plays

Why hit the QB when you can just take the ball from him? Mike Hoecht's got the right idea.

Locked in

Drew Lock might have lost his starting job, but he's still putting points on the board for the Broncos.

Name or play?

Which is better?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23, Houston Texans 16

The GOAT

Tom Brady took the field for the Buccaneers preseason finale and he looked sharp early with this completion to Chris Godwin.

Brady would complete all seven pass attempts on the first drive of the game for 91 yards, including a touchdown pass to Godwin.

Clicking on all cylinders

The Buccaneers' offense is going to be hard to stop in 2021 if they are in rhythm in the air and on the ground, and the Texans found that out the hard way early.

After Brady dominated through the air on the Buccaneers' first drive, the running game had its turn to make an impact on the next drive with Ronald Jones scoring a rushing touchdown.

Nicoooooo

Think the Texans are happy for Nico Collins after this score?

Kyle to Cody

Now that Brady's out of the mix, Kyle Trask has taken over under center for the Bucs. And he found Cody McElroy for the score midway through the third.

Not going quietly

Don't look now but Houston is in this thing, after this TD toss from Davis Mills to Jordan Veasy.

Still not going quietly

The defending champs are in a (preseason) dogfight. Tavierre Thomas is making sure of that.

But in the end, it wasn't enough, as the defending champs emerged victorious 23-16, capped off by this pick from Dee Delaney.

Buffalo Bills 19, Green Bay Packers 0

Midseason form

Josh Allen treated the first quarter against the Packers as if the game counted, completing 10 of his first 11 pass attempts for 90 yards.

That included a laser to Gabriel Davis for a 31-yard touchdown.

For the quarter, Allen completed 12 of 16 pass attempts for 123 yards.

Show some Love

Packers MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers didn't take the field against the Bills, which meant it was an opportunity for second-year backup Jordan Love to prove his mettle.

He showed off his arm with a 29-yard completion to Reggie Begelton.

Takeaway!

The Bills' defense might have taken Love's early success personally, especially veteran safety Micah Hyde.

With the Packers threatening to score, Hyde intercepted a pass in the back of the end zone to thwart a promising drive from the visiting team.

Man on fire

Allen's work wasn't finished in the first quarter, as he continued his dominance in the second with another touchdown pass.

This time, he found running back Zack Moss in the red zone.

Allen starred in the first half, completing 20 of 26 pass attempts for 196 yards and two touchdowns.

Snowball effect

Jake Fromm took the baton from Allen in the second half and kept the momentum rolling in the Bills' favor.

After Allen put touchdowns on the board through the air, Fromm found the end zone on the ground.

That proved to be more than enough offense for the Bills, who secured a 19-0 win over the Packers.

Baltimore Ravens 37, Washington Football Team 3

Lamar who?

Baltimore really believes in being mobile at quarterback, evidenced by this 10-yard dash from backup quarterback Tyler Huntley, putting the Ravens up at the end of the first quarter.

Huntley showed off his ability with his legs on the first touchdown of the game, and for the second he showed off his passing ability.

He found tight end Eric Tomlinson in the back of the end zone to put the Ravens ahead 16-0.

Hat trick in the first half

Any word that is synonymous with dominant would be the best way to describe Huntley's first half against the Football Team.

He accounted for all three touchdowns in the first half for the Ravens, with two coming through the air.

Picking up where he left off

The story of the game was the performance of Huntley, who continued to light up WFT in the second half, passing for his third touchdown of the game early in the third quarter.

How about another for good measure?

Huntley's dominant performance was the catalyst for a big Ravens win over the Football Team, winning by score of 37-3.

Chicago Bears 27, Tennessee Titans 24

Stingy

The Bears defense looked ready for Week 1 of the regular season early against the Titans, with linebacker Danny Trevathan intercepting a pass for the first turnover of the game.

On the board

The first points of the game weren't scored until the second quarter, but they came by way of the Titans.

Running back Mekhi Sargent punched it in at the goal line to give the Titans a 7-0 lead.

Going the other way

The Bears' offense sputtered in the first half, but their defense held them down with a second interception.

This time it was returned for a touchdown to tie the game at 7-7.

Playmaker on the field

First-round pick Justin Fields began to get his feet under him as the first half progressed and it was evident on his touchdown pass to Jesper Horsted at the end of the half.

Fields found Horsted in the corner of the end zone for the Bears' first offensive touchdown of the game.

Double up

Nick Foles took over at quarterback to start the second half for the Bears, tossing a touchdown pass on the opening drive of the half.

And the recipient was Horsted for his second receiving touchdown of the game.

Bouncing back

The Titans scored 14 unanswered points to overcome a 21-10 deficit to the Bears and take a 24-21 lead in the fourth quarter.

The rally was capped off by a touchdown pass from Logan Woodside to Cameron Batson.

Have yourself a game

Jesper Horsted was already having a remarkable game with two touchdown receptions for the Bears, but his third one in the fourth quarter regained the lead for his team, putting them on top 27-24.

That was all the Bears needed to hold on and come out victorious over the Titans.
