Police: Broncos rookie CB arrested

Broncos rookie cornerback Perrish Cox was arrested in Denver on Thursday on charges of sexual assault, the Denver Post is reporting.

A police statement said the department was notified on Oct. 28 of a possible sexual assault, and the arrest Thursday was the result of a lengthy investigation, according to the report.

The 23-year-old Cox was arrested without incident, the Post reported.

"We are aware of the reports and are currently in the process of gathering information and reviewing the facts," Broncos media relations director Patrick Smyth said, according to the Post. "We are taking this matter very seriously and are fully cooperating with every aspect of the process."

Cox has 42 tackles in 11 games this season. He has started eight times.
