Philadelphia Eagles: Jordan Matthews' injury is not serious
Jordan Matthews should play for the Philadelphia Eagles next weekend.
Considering Jordan Matthews is the only good Philadelphia Eagles wideout, it was a bit concerning when he left Monday night’s game against the Green Bay Packers with an ankle injury.
Luckily, Matthews’ injury isn’t all that serious after all.
According to head coach Doug Pederson, Matthews X-rays came back negative and he should be available to play against the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday. Without Matthews, the Eagles’ starting receivers would have been Bryce Treggs and Dorial Green-Beckham.
Not ideal.
That’s not the only good news on the injury front. Brandon Brooks, who missed Monday night’s tilt due to an illness, is expected to return to practice this week and should be a full-go against Cincinnati.
Ryan Mathews, however, is still nursing the knee injury he suffered against the Seattle Seahawks and will be limited in practice this week. Don’t bet on him being much of a factor against the Bengals if he is healthy enough to suit up Sunday afternoon.
