Philadelphia Eagles expect Lane Johnson to play against Lions

Lane Johnson is expected to play against the Detroit Lions this Sunday.

The Philadelphia Eagles are awaiting the results of Lane Johnson‘s appeal to his 10-game suspension after violating the League’s performance-enhancing drug policy for the second time within a year.

Until a decision is made on Johnson’s appeal, he is expected to play against the Detroit Lions this Sunday.

Johnson has been one of the best offensive tackles in the NFL so far this season and losing him for 10 games would be a tough pill to swallow for the Eagles. But if he does miss substantial time, Allen Barbre, who has been surprisingly efficient this season, could slide over to right tackle to fill in. It is also believed that rookie Halapoulivaati Vaitai could take over at right tackle so Barbre can continue to play well as a guard.

Johnson is going to be suspended. It’s just a matter of how long he’ll be suspended for. Until then, however, the Eagles are going to utilize Johnson as much as they can.
