Patriots fire OL coach one day after Tom Brady takes record number of hits
On the day after Tom Brady was mauled in the AFC Championship Game, the New England Patriots fired their offensive line coach.
The Patriots are parting ways with Dave DeGuglielmo, FOX Sports 1's NFL Insider Mike Garafolo confirmed. NFL Media first reported the story.
Brady took more hits in Sunday's 20-18 loss against the Denver Broncos than any other quarterback had all season. Brady was sacked four times and recorded 20 quarterback hits.
DeGuglielmo coached for the Patriots for two seasons after the retirement of Dante Scarnecchia. The Patriots offensive line was struck with injuries all season, causing them to shake up their personnel.
