Parker Ehinger out for the season, per report

Kansas City Chiefs left guard Parker Ehinger is out for the season after sustaining a knee injury against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Chiefs had to expect this news might be in the making, especially when general manager John Dorsey went out and signed running back Bishop Sankey on Tuesday morning. Needing to make a roster move, the Chiefs are expected to put left guard and rookie starter Parker Ehinger on Injured Reserve with a hurt knee, ending his campaign.

On Sunday, Ehinger was hurt at the start of the third quarter. It was an ugly sight and an even uglier sound, as he went down, audibly screaming in pain. It’s a shame, because Ehinger has been playing some really quality football for Kansas City.

With Ehinger out, look for third-year man Zach Fulton to step in. Fulton doesn’t have the same mobility in the screen game that Ehinger doesn, but he’s a mauler who will provide good pass protection. Fulton is a good player, and certainly the Chiefs are happy to have him for depth.

It’ll be interesting to see if Kansas City tries to add another offensive lineman with the trade deadline approaching. It’s unlikely, but Dorsey has made ample trades in his time with the Chiefs.
