Panthers share practice with high school team

The Spartanburg (S.C.) High School Vikings weren't the only ones having fun when they shared a practice field with the Carolina Panthers on Thursday.

Linebacker Thomas Davis had some fun with Cam Newton, feeding one of the prep players some trash to talk to the Panthers' star QB.

"He delivered it pretty well," Davis said.

It was the first time an NFL team held a joint practice with a high school team, the Panthers announced. The Vikings warmed up and talked with the pro players before splitting up to run their practice.

Spartanburg coach Chris Miller said getting to watch the Panthers practice drills was invaluable to his players.

"We're constantly talking about it and they are doing it over and over again. Now they see guys who have paid the price and look where it has gotten them," Miller said.
