Palmer dismisses notion of Cardinals taking winless Lions for granted

Carson Palmer dismissed the notion that the Arizona Cardinals might overlook the winless Detroit Lions on Sunday.

“We’re not taking this game for granted whatsoever. This is a good football team," said Palmer, using Detroit's latest defeat as an example. "This is a team that was a foot and a half away from beating Seattle at home."

There's also the matter of the Cardinals attempting to rebound from their first loss, a 24-22 setback against the St. Louis Rams in which they dominated play for much of the game.

“You never want to lose, but it’s a challenge coming back,” Palmer said. “It’s a tough environment and we’re going to see what we’re made of.”

Since Bruce Arians was named coach, Arizona has lost back-to-back games only once with Palmer in the lineup - both coming in a five-day span against division rivals San Francisco and Seattle in October 2013.
