Packers officially rule out Eddie Lacy, top two cornerbacks vs. Bears

The Green Bay Packers are coming off of their second loss of the season, and it’s not going to get any easier on Thursday night against the Chicago Bears.

With James Starks already out for the next few weeks, the Packers will also be without Eddie Lacy this week as he’s officially been ruled out due to an ankle injury.

In addition to Lacy, the Packers will also be without cornerbacks Damarious Randall and Quinten Rollins, as well as Jared Cook and Jared Abbrederis. Green Bay is among the most-injured teams in the NFL, and it’s certainly hindering their play. No. 1 cornerback Sam Shields is also on injured reserve.

Lacy injured his ankle two weeks ago against the Giants and was forced to play through it on Sunday against Dallas. He still managed to rush for 65 yards on 17 carries, but he wasn’t himself. This season, he’s rushed for 360 yards but has yet to score a touchdown.

Recently signed Knile Davis figures to take over as the lead back with help from Ty Montgomery and Randall Cobb also taking snaps in the backfield.
