Packers' Lacy leaves game with apparent ankle injury

The Packers have been hit hard by injuries already this season, and that trend continued Sunday in Green Bay's Week 2 home game against the visiting Seahawks.

Running back Eddie Lacy left the field on a cart late in the first quarter after trainers attended to what appeared to be an ankle injury on the sideline. Lacy, who has topped 1,100 rushing yards in each of his first two NFL seasons, had three carries for 9 yards at the time of the injury, and coach Mike McCarthy told NBC at halftime that he would not return to the game.

FOX Sports 1 Insider Mike Garafolo later reported that X-rays were negative.

Green Bay entered the game without three starters already lost to serious injuries. Wide receiver Jordy Nelson (knee) was lost for the year in the preseason, linebacker Sam Barrington (foot) left a Week 1 win against the Bears with a season-ending injury, and right tackle Bryan Bulaga (knee) will be out six weeks after hurting himself in practice last week.

The Packers lost two more players to ankle injuries later in the first half, receiver Davante Adams and defensive lineman Josh Boyd. Adams later returned, and Boyd was ruled out after leaving on a cart.
