Packers clinch playoff spot during first quarter of Raiders game

The Green Bay Packers were able to celebrate during the first quarter of their Week 15 matchup with the Oakland Raiders, as the New York Giants' 38-35 loss to the Carolina Panthers allowed them to clinch a berth in this year's playoffs.

The Packers went up 7-0 on the Raiders with about five minutes left in the opening frame and learned the final score of the Giants-Panthers game shortly thereafter.

The Packers are en route to a seventh consecutive postseason appearance (franchise record), but they're still playing for an NFC North title and home-field advantage. The Minnesota Vikings are right behind them, and they're set to square off in Week 17.

Green Bay's celebration won't last long, as there's still plenty of work to do in the weeks to come.
