Packers ask fans to shovel Lambeau

Just like last time the Giants made a playoff visit to Lambeau Field, Packers fans will have the opportunity to make a buck by helping clear snow from the stadium.

With four-to-six inches of snow falling Thursday in the area, the team put out the call for up to 450 shovelers to dig snow from the stands.

The team said those interested must be at least 15 years old and will be paid $10 per hour, with the snow-removal efforts kicking off at 10 a.m. local time. The Packers will provide the shovels.

Asking fans to help shovel snow is a long-standing tradition of the community-owned franchise.

Coincidentally the same effort occurred four years ago during the week leading up to the NFC Championship, which was won by the Giants in overtime.

The weather for that game was frigid, with temperatures below zero and the wind chill making it feel like minus-23 degrees Fahrenheit.

The weather for Sunday's Divisional Round game in Green Bay is expected to be much kinder to the teams and fans, with highs in the upper 20s and only a 10 percent chance of rain.
