Orakpo excited for new start

The Tennessee Titans are ready to move on from a difficult 2014 season, and so is new linebacker Brian Orakpo.

The 28-year-old Orakpo registered just half a sack in seven games for the Redskins, before being lost for the season due to a torn pectoral muscle.

Tennessee, which is coming off a 2-14 season, signed Orakpo to a lucrative four-year contract in the hopes he'll return to the level of production that led to three Pro Bowl selections earlier in his career.

"These guys brought me in here to be a playmaker, and to not only continue the success I've had in the league, but to get better," Orakpo said, according to John Glennon of the Tennessean. "That's what I'm here for, to get better, to help this team get to where we want to be."

Orakpo, like the Titans, is eager to put last year behind him.

"There was a lot of stuff I could have gotten better at — just the whole year was a wash," Orakpo said. "I don't remember game for game, but I was struggling with finishing the sack. I would be there but I just couldn't finish it."

The Titans are banking a new start will benefit both the player and the team.
