Odell Beckham Jr. says he tried to meet face-to-face with Josh Norman in offseason
The fighting began early and often and marred what should have been a great showdown between two of the NFL's best players, Giants wideout Odell Beckham and then-Panthers cornerback Josh Norman. But emotions got the best of both men in the December 2015 game, laundry covered the field and they both got fined for multiple personal fouls.
Both players have tried to move on (as Norman hasmoved to the Redskins with a lucrative deal in free agency), but they've both taken shots at each other on Twitter and in media interviews, including Beckham's claim to GQ that Norman became so relevant because of him.
Turns out at some point, Beckham Jr. tried to meet with Norman face-to-face, presumably to squash it totally. He explains during an interview with WFAN's "Boomer and Carton" on Wednesday:
"I told Maverick Carter, obviously they know each other through 'Uninterrupted.' We were trying to meet up and have a face-to-face. We just were in different places at the wrong time. Just because it's gone from here to way over that way and it doesn't really need to. There's way bigger problems going on in this world."
The meeting didn't happen, so it will come on September 25 at MetLife Stadium when the Giants host the Redskins in Week 3. Then we will see if the feud is really over or if they're just tired of talking about it.
