Oakland Raiders Should Watch Out For Knile Davis
The Oakland Raiders want a physical running game.
And even though Latavius Murray is 6’3″, 230 pounds, they’re not going to get it from him. Murray is a soft running back and when a say that, I’m not talking about his manhood. I mean he picks his way through things and won’t accelerate unless he sees a big hole.
So when the big hole isn’t there, he goes down softly, without a big collision. Guys like Adrian Peterson and Le’Veon Bell attack line of scrimmage and accelerate through the smallest of holes. And you always hear the pads popping at the end of their runs.
Sometimes, they even pop through the small crack and end up with a big run out of it. That is a physical running game, the kind that wears the defense down. You don’t wear a defense down just because they have to run to the ball, you have to pound on them.
Fifth-round pick DeAndre Washington is a 5’8″, 207-pound scat-back and Jalen Richard is the same size. Meanwhile, RB/KR Knile Davis is on the trading block for the rival Kansas City Chiefs. Davis is 5’10”, 227 pounds and attacks the line of scrimmage.
He also runs a 4.37 40-yard dash to hit the home run once he gets to the second level. And according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Chiefs have Davis on the trading block. The Chiefs already replaced him in the return game with Tyreek Hill.
And he already lost his role as the team’s short-yardage specialist. After the trading block comes cuts this time of year so the Raiders should be ready to pounce. The Raiders already took (CB Sean Smith) one good football player from their rivals this offseason.
