Passing offense: Jason Campbell struggled in his first start since he was benched midway through Oakland's second game. He had two passes intercepted, threw for just 83 yards and finished with a 10.7 passer rating. Grade: F

Running offense: Michael Bush didn't do much with a sizable workload (20 carries, 47 yards). Louis Murphy's 43-yard run on an end around skewed the stats and goosed the overall average to 3.7 yards per attempt. Grade: D-

Passing defense: Two blown coverages turned a respectable showing into a disappointing one. The Raiders allowed a 32-yard touchdown pass on a zone coverage in which they left receiver Michael Crabtree open. Tight end Vernon Davis got free on a 17-yard touchdown. Grade: D+

Running defense: The Raiders did an admirable job limiting the effectiveness of Frank Gore until he ripped off a 64-yard run midway through the fourth quarter. Overall, the 49ers rushed for 158 yards and averaged 5.1 yards per attempt. Grade: C-

Special teams: Sebastian Janikowski converted his three field goal attempts (27, 24 and 40 yards). Shane Lechler punted well in tough conditions. Jacoby Ford and Nick Miller struggled on kickoff and punt returns. Grade: B-

Coaching: The 49ers did a better job of preventing the kind of backbreaking plays that change the complexion of a close game. The Raiders offense lacked imagination, spark and consistency. Two defensive lapses proved costly. Grade: F
