NY Gov. Cuomo to attend Super Bowl

NEW YORK (AP) New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (KWOH'-moh) will be attending the Super Bowl.

Friday's announcement comes a day after New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (dih BLAH'-zee-oh) said he won't be going to the game. New York is an official co-host with New Jersey.

Cuomo was offered a complimentary ticket by the NFL but is paying for it with campaign funds. It costs $2,000.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will also attend Sunday's game.

De Blasio is watching the game in New York with his teenage son in part due to the high cost of tickets.

The game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford N.J. between the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks is the first held in the region.
