NFL Week 14 injury roundup: Chargers lose Melvin Gordon and Joey Bosa

The Chargers lost two of their best young players to injury during Sunday’s game against the Panthers. 

Running back Melvin Gordon left the field on a cart after injuring his hip in the first quarter. Rookie defensive end Joey Bosa was hurt later in the game, initially taken to the locker room for a concussion evaluation before being ruled out with a neck injury. 

In Miami, Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill went down with a knee injury after a low hit by Calais Campbell. He was taken to the locker room and replaced by veteran backup Matt Moore.

Melvin Gordon, Chargers — Hip, out

Gordon is just three yards short of 1,000 on the season. He was replaced in the backfield by undrafted rookie Kenneth Farrow. 

Joey Bosa, Chargers — Neck, out

Bosa is a favorite for Defensive Rookie of the Year after overcoming a slow start to the season. 

Ryan Tannehill, Dolphins — Knee, questionable

Tannehill was able to leave the field under his own power and limp to the locker room for evaluation. 

Su’a Cravens, Redskins — Bicep, out

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Cravens is believed to have a partially torn bicep but will have an MRI tonight to confirm. 

Darren Sproles, Eagles — Head, questionable

Sproles was injured on a hit to the head while returning a punt. He was taken to the locker room for a concussion evaluation.
