NFL roundup: Odell Beckham Jr. is 'not having fun anymore'
Despite being one of the best players in the NFL, New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is not having any fun.
Odell Beckham Jr. has been a star since making his NFL debut two years ago. Since then, he has put up record-setting numbers, and has been one of the more electrifying players in the league. However, his temper has gotten the best of him lately, and he recently said he is no longer having fun playing the game. His numbers have slipped as well this season, as he has failed to reach the end zone during the New York Giants first four games.
The Arizona Cardinals will take on the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football this week, but they may be without their quarterback. Carson Palmer is still in concussion protocol, and there is no word whether he will be back in time for Week 5. If he cannot go, expect Drew Stanton to make the start for the Cardinals, in what could be a must-win for the surprisingly 1-3 team.
Back on June 5, Denver Broncos star cornerback Aqib Talib was shot in the leg. The bullet wound forced him to miss the team’s Super Bowl 50 championship trip to the White House, and at the time, Talib said he did not know who shot him. Well, as it turns out, he did know who shot him, because it was him. The Dallas police concluded their investigation on Tuesday, and ruled Talib shot himself in the leg.
Carolina Panther quarterback Cam Newton rented a mansion managed by the husband of former WWE star Stacy Keibler this past offseason, and apparently, he did some serious damage to it. According to a lawsuit filed against Newton, the mansion incurred $100,000 dollars in damages. He is being sued for over $270,000, which includes the damages and lost rent while the repairs were being made. Maybe he was mad over his performance in the Super Bowl.
Justin Forsett was released by the Baltimore Ravens at the end of the preseason, but was quickly re-signed prior to Week 1. The team probably should have just let him be, as they once again released the running back on Tuesday. Forsett, 30, has been highly ineffective this season, and the team has been relying more on Terrance West. The move was called mutual by both Forsett and the Ravens.
