NFL reportedly interviews Ezekiel Elliott over domestic violence allegations
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has recently been interviewed by NFL investigators regarding domestic violence allegations made by his ex-girlfriend last summer, USA Today reported Thursday.
Charges were not brought against Elliott by the Columbus City Attorney’s Office prosecutors, who said they declined to pursue the case “primarily due to conflicting and inconsistent information across all the incidents resulting in concern regarding the sufficiency of the evidence to support the filing of criminal charges.”
Despite the prosecutors not pursuing charges, the NFL is conducting an ongoing investigation into the five alleged incidents involving Elliott. USA Today reached out to NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy for comment, but he declined, saying only that the league is actively reviewing the matter.
Elliott, a rookie, currently leads the NFL in rushing with 703 yards and is among the leaders in carries and rushing touchdowns for the 5-1 Cowboys, who face the Eagles on Sunday.
