NFL power rankings: Chiefs surge, Broncos tank

The NFL power rankings are out for Week 13, and the Kansas City Chiefs are moving up while the Denver Broncos are falling behind.

After Sunday night’s thrilling 30-27 overtime win in the Mile High city, things are looking up for the Chiefs. Kansas City is 8-3 and while it remains one game behind the Oakland Raiders in the AFC West, the two teams will play in two weeks at Arrowhead Stadium.

Andy Reid and Co. are hoping to get healthier down the stretch, trying to secure not only a division crown but a bye in the AFC playoffs. Suddenly, they are right there and starting to peak, right after things were looking bleak.

At some point this season, the defense will have Dee Ford, Justin Houston, Jaye Howard, Eric Berry, Marcus Peters and Dontari Poe (and Tamba Hali, and Derrick Johnson … you get the point) healthy and all on the field together. Don’t underestimate this team. They have won 19 of their last 23 games, counting playoffs.
