NFL playoffs: Who's in, who's out? Latest standings and seedings
With eight weeks left in the NFL season, only a few teams have separated themselves as true contenders, which leaves plenty of middling teams jostling for playoff position over the next several games. Currently, one division in each conference holds both wild-card spots, but chances are, that will shift down the stretch. If the playoffs started today, which teams would be in, and which teams would be on the bubble? Here’s where everyone stands.

The AFC West currently has three teams in the postseason, with the Broncos falling to sixth behind the Chiefs after their loss to the Raiders in Week 1. Same goes for the NFC East, where the Giants and Redskins hold wild-card spots entering Week 10 action. The struggling Steelers can keep pace in the AFC North and shake up the NFC in the process with a win over the Cowboys. And if the Patriots return from their bye with a prime-time win over the Seahawks, whatever fleeting hope the AFC East’s other three teams have of catching them is all but lost.
In the NFC, Dallas is protecting a two-game lead for the No. 1 seed on the strength of dynamic rookies Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott. The Falcons, who are now the No. 3 seed, have another chance to gain ground against the foundering Eagles in Week 10. The Packers dropped out of the playoff bracket after losing to the Colts at home, which allowed the Redskins to slide into the final wild-card spot on their bye week.
