NFL names Vincent VP of active player development
The NFL has named former All-Pro cornerback Troy Vincent vice president of player development for active players.
The league announced the move in a statement Thursday.
Vincent, a five-time Pro Bowler who played for Miami, Philadelphia, Buffalo and Washington and was president of the NFL Players Association for four years until March 2008, will join the league office on February 22.
He will oversee a broad array of support programs for players and their families, including the Rookie Symposium, Conduct Management Program and LifeSkills, and will work on new programs that will address the needs and concerns of incoming and current NFL players.
Vincent won the Walter Payton Man of the Year award in 2002 for his community service.
