New York Jets could surprise this season

The New York Jets became a laughing stock last year as they limped to a 4-12 record. Part of it was because of injuries that decimated the secondary and part of it was because of the inconsistent play at quarterback. However, the Jets have certainly done a lot to try and change their perception for the 2015 season as they added big name players such as wide receiver Brandon Marshall and cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie.

With that in mind, CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora describes why the Jets could surprise other teams in the upcoming season. Mainly he points to the improved targets around Geno Smith. Adding Brandon Marshall and rookie Devin Smith to go along with Eric Decker and Jeremy Kerley means a lot more options to throw to.

Additionally, La Canfora is high on the Jets defense after they gave their secondary a complete facelift and added USC defensive lineman Leonard Williams to their already stout defensive line in the NFL Draft.

With all the talent that was added on the roster, the Jets are hoping that means a big jump in their 2015 win total as well.
