New York Giants super fan 'License Plate Guy' arrested for loan sharking

It might be a while before you see License Plate Guy at a New York Giants game.

Joe Ruback, a Giants super fan, was arrested Thursday in connection with an investigation into organized crime, according to a report from The Journal News.

Ruback faces fourth-degree grand larceny. The athletic director at the Biondi School in Yonkers is accused of running a loan-sharking operation, using occassional violence and threats and lending and collecting money at illegal interest rates.

Ruback was released on a $2,000 bond. He has a previous conviction for stealing. Ruback pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree grand larceny charge in 1998. Ruback and a friend were charged with theft of about $14,000 from a J.C. Penney.

Ruback claims he hasn't missed a Giants game in 14 years. The super fan can normally be seen at Giants games donned in Giants-related licenses plates.
