New England Patriots: Did Rob Gronkowski cross the line at Ortiz roast?

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski again proves he has no filter, but his classless jokes while roasting David Ortiz were too much even for him

It's just Gronk being Gronk. That's the classic comeback whenever New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski goes off and does, or says, something foolish.

When he was partying with adult film stars it was just "Gronk being Gronk." When he was chugging beers in a parade it was just "Gronk being Gronk." When he asked a couple to "bang in front of everybody" for $10,000 on his party boat it was also just simply "Gronk being Gronk."

This time though, the over-the-top NFL player went too far. While appearing on a roast of former Boston Red Sox great David Ortiz, Gronk had some racial jokes which were incredibly offensive. The joke, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk:

As if it wasn't bad enough to go after a team he couldn't even suit up against, Gronk had to insult African-Americans too. Then he showed that he could be offensive to other minority groups as well (again per Pro Football Talk):

Hey, that's just "Gronk being Gronk", right? The real question now is how long the respectable franchise he represents will put up with this outlandish behavior. Team owner Robert Kraft has often spoke out against players causing such a stir, as has head coach Bill Belicheck.

As Gronk pointed out, the team won a Super Bowl without him. Maybe he shouldn't give them a reason to try and do so again.
