Monday Night Football top plays: Steelers narrowly escape Bears in Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Steelers narrowly topped the Chicago Bears at Heinz Field on Monday Night Football, as Week 9 came to a close.

It was all Steelers through three quarters, with Pittsburgh jumping out to a 20-6 lead, but Chicago came up with a late-game surge featuring three touchdowns in the final frame to take a one-point lead with less than two minutes to play.

With 26 seconds to spare, the Steelers nailed the game-winning field goal, emerging with a 29-27 win, as Chicago barely missed a 65-yard field goal to win it.

Chicago is now 3-1 in its past four games against Pittsburgh.

Here are the top moments from Monday's matchup.

Pittsburgh Steelers 29, Chicago Bears 27

FIRST QUARTER

It didn't take long for the Steelers to get on the board.

Their first drive resulted in a touchdown thanks to a 10-yard run from Najee Harris.

The Steelers' defense also did its part in the first quarter, swarming Chicago's rookie quarterback Justin Fields.

Defensive end Cameron Heyward batted down a pass from Fields that he ultimately would intercept.

SECOND QUARTER

Their first touchdown came on the ground, so it was only right that the second Steelers' TD came through the air.

Ben Roethlisberger found tight end Pat Freiermuth to give the Steelers a 14-0 lead.

Pittsburgh's defense –– namely T.J. Watt –– continued to pressure Fields well into the second frame.

THIRD QUARTER

In the second half, Freiermuth snagged his second TD of the night to give the Steelers a two-score lead.

FOURTH QUARTER

The Bears cut into the Steelers' lead when Darnell Mooney found the end zone on this quick 15-yard scamper.

Then, midway through the frame, Bears' defensive back DeAndre Houston-Carson took this fumbled punt all the way to the house.

And just like that, it was a three-point game.

On a huge third down for the Steelers, Roethlisberger was sacked for a loss of seven yards, but a taunting penalty assessed to Bears linebacker Cassius Marsh gave Pittsburgh a first down, which resulted in a field goal.

But the Bears still weren't deterred.

Down by six, Fields & Co. marched down the field, capping off this seven-play, 75-yard drive with another Mooney TD to take the lead.

In the end, the Steelers raced downfield, and Chris Boswell nailed the game-winner with 26 seconds left.
