Mike Zimmer: It's not like Vikings 'spit the bit' in loss to Broncos

Add head coach Mike Zimmer to the list of those who were encouraged by the Minnesota Vikings' 23-20 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 4. The Vikings were in the game until the end, as the undefeated Broncos narrowly escaped with their fourth victory of the season.

Heading into the bye week with a 2-2 record, Zimmer is confident that the Vikings will start stringing some wins together soon.

Zimmer said the following about his team's future, via ESPN's Ben Ben Goessling:

There's plenty to be excited about in Minnesota. On offense, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is coming along and running back Adrian Peterson is still running hard. Defensively, safety Harrison Smith and linebacker Anthony Barr have stood out as consistent playmakers.

We'll see if things come together for a promising Vikings squad against the Kansas City Chiefs on the other side of the bye.
