Mettenberger looking to send Titans into the offseason on high note
It's been another difficult season for the Tennessee Titans, but as the team prepares to wrap up the year, Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts offers an opportunity to enter the offseason with momentum.
A season after finishing 2-14, the Titans enter Week 17 at 3-12. Quarterback Zach Mettenberger, who will start for the second straight week in place of the injured Marcus Mariota, said a victory in Tennessee's final game would offer a big boost to the team's morale.

“Really, you don’t have that bad taste in your mouth,’’ Mettenberger said. “As tough as this season been, ending it the right way would be huge for this team.”
The good news for the Titans is that Sunday offers a legitimate chance for a win. The Colts enter the game poised to choose between journeymen Josh Freeman and Ryan Lindley at quarterback. Both were signed just Tuesday.
