Matt Miller's 7 round mock has Texans drafting linebacker in first round

Matt Miller of Bleacher Report has released a seven round mock draft and he has the Houston Texans taking a pass rusher in round one.

Just like every other NFL team, the Texans have many holes to fill on their roster this offseason. Here’s how they fared in Miller’s mock draft.

Round 1

Florida, LB, Jarrad Davis

Miller makes a great point about both Cushing and McKinney not being three down linebackers.  I would prefer the Texans either drafting an offensive lineman or a quarterback in the first round.

    Round 2

    DL Elijah Qualls, Washington

Qualls is a load at 322 pounds and makes a lot of sense for the Texans with Vince Wilfork not getting any younger as he contemplates retirement and gets ready to become a free agent.

    Round 3

    Temple, OG,  Dion Dawkins

Dawkins is someone that would add depth to a Texans offensive line that needs help after struggling last season.  He could even come in and compete for a starting job if he has a smooth transition to the NFL.

    Round 4

    Colorado, S, Tedric Thompson

Safety is certainly a need for the Texans this offseason and Thompson is a play maker after racking up 63 tackles and seven interceptions this past season with the Buffaloes.

    Round 5

    USF, RB, Marlon Mack

The 6 foot, 207 pound Mack ran for 1,1187 yards and 15 touchdowns this past season for the Bulls.

The Texans could use an upgrade behind Lamar Miller.  Alfred Blue is average at best.

    Round 7

    Michigan State, TE, Josiah Price

Price didn’t have a huge season as a receiver but could be a contributor as a back up tight end and on special teams.
