Matt Flynn enjoys bloody Mary after being released by Jets

NFL teams had until 4 p.m. EST on Saturday to trim their rosters down to 53 players. Among those to be released was veteran quarterback Matt Flynn by the Jets.

Flynn and Josh Johnson were cut on Saturday, leaving Ryan Fitzpatrick, Geno Smith and Bryce Petty as the team’s quarterbacks to start the season. After being made aware of the team’s decision, Flynn took to his Twitter account to thank the organization for giving him an opportunity.

Shortly after, Flynn posted the above photo of a bloody Mary with the caption, “For now, it’s #bloodymary time.” That’s one way to “celebrate” getting cut.

At just 30 years old, we likely haven’t seen the last of Matt Flynn in the NFL. Until that time comes, Flynn will be hanging out in Louisiana rooting for LSU in its quest for a spot in college football’s playoff.
