Marcus Mariota ranked as NFL's most appealing player

He's yet to play a down in the NFL yet, but Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota is already proving to be extremely popular, at least according to one list.

As ESPN's Paul Kuharsky notes, Mariota is ranked as the NFL's most appealing player by Celebrity DBI, "an independent index that quantifies and qualifies consumer perceptions of celebrities."

Rounding out the top five behind Mariota were Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt, quarterbacks Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks and Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals.

According to Kuharsky, the ranking is comprised of eight different categories: Awareness, appeal, aspiration, breakthrough, endorsement, influence, trend-setter and trust.

It doesn't mean much for Mariota in terms of wins and loss, but likely will come in handy with endorsements.

Not bad for a rookie.
