Manti Te'o could sit the Chargers-Seahawks game out

Manti Te'o has flashed all the promise in the world on the inside of San Diego's defense.

It'll mean nothing if the linebacker can't get on the field, which is why the Chargers are being extra cautious this week.

The team has been down this road before with Te'o. The second-round pick suffered a debilitating broken foot that hobbled him enough to stunt his growth. While he's flashed star ability this preseason, they don't want history to repeat itself.

On the bright side, rookie Denzel Perryman will get some key experience against a tough Seahawks offense. The Chargers would trade those early reps for Te'o's availability any day, though.
