Los Angeles Rams hire Skip Peete as running backs coach
LOS ANGELES (AP) Veteran NFL assistant coach Skip Peete has been hired as the Los Angeles Rams' running backs coach.
Rams coach Jeff Fisher announced the hiring Saturday.
Peete spent the past three years as the Chicago Bears' running backs coach. He also had lengthy stints in the job with the Oakland Raiders (1998-06) and Dallas Cowboys (2007-12).
Peete rejoins fellow Bears assistant Michael Groh, who was named the Rams' receivers coach and passing game coordinator Monday.
Rob Boras is likely to remain the Rams' offensive coordinator after serving in the job for the final four games of the season in St. Louis.
Peete replaces Ben Sirmans, who was among five assistants let go by Fisher after St. Louis' offense finished last in the league with 297.6 yards per game.
