Locked on Chiefs - Seth Keysor checks in
On Tuesday the Chiefs added Rakeem Nunez-Roches to the practice squad.
After being cut on Saturday to make room for an additional guard the Chiefs were able to get him to pass through waivers unclaimed. RNR is a good player and I was surprised that he went unclaimed through the waiver system and I expect him back with the Chiefs at some point this season.
Another move the Chiefs made yesterday was releasing Seantavius Jones from the practice squad and bringing back Daniel Munyer. I may be reading more into it than there really is but it makes me question their thoughts about the guards coming back this week. If either Ehinger or LDT was expected back this week I’m not sure that this move is made but that is conjecture at best.
Looking ahead to the Jets
All eyes will be on Jamaal Charles to see if he gets any actual team reps as opposed to his typical scout duty reps that he has been getting. I’ve said before I think it’s not worth rushing him back. The Chiefs have the talent at RB to make up for not having him on the field so it would be wise to give him as much time as he needs. That said, when he comes back he could be a big boon on offense. Both West and Ware are more than capable backs but neither have Charles combination of speed, quickness, vision or ability out of the backfield.
