Justin Houston is officially reactivated

Happy Days are back. Justin Houston has rejoined the Kansas City Chiefs active roster on Wednesday just as the deadline rang out. Houston has been doing drills and light “football activity” for several weeks now.

It is still not clear if he will be available for this weekend’s game against the Carolina Panthers. The team may need to take a similar approach to what they did with Jamaal Charles. Houston could need a week or two to ramp up to his starting role. Dee Ford has recently stepped his game up considerably in Houston’s absence. Ford is currently tied for 2nd in the NFL in sacks.

Chiefs Offense could use a boost

Jeremy Maclin was not able to practice to start the week. He did not participate with the lingering group injury he suffered in practice last week. The team will look to Chris Conley, Albert Wilson and Tyreek Hill to step up their games in if Maclin is unable to play versus Carolina.

Luckily, the team did get its spark plug back. Spencer Ware was able to practice Wednesday. He is the team leader in yards from scrimmage on the season. The team could get a much-needed lift in the running game with Ware back in the lineup against a tough but underachieving Panthers defense.
