Patience is the name of the game on Chiefs injuries
Coach Andy Reid made the organizations philosophy on major injuries. In a word, it is patience. Reid stressed that approach multiple times on Monday. He was asked about three major injury recoveries that are still progressing; Jamaal Charles, Phillip Gaines and Justin Houston. In separate discussion of all, Reid preached the wait and see approach. It is clear that the coaching staff feels they have competent backups in place that can carry the load until the trio an return to action.
As Reid put it, the bottom line with the injury process is “We’re trying to be smart with it.”
AFC Power Rankings

Not all these teams will make the postseason, but with 3 AFC West teams in the top-6, the division could be well represented come January. The Raiders continue to play well enough to get wins and the Broncos are rolling with their run game and defense.
These rankings were done prior to the Monday night game. Not much will change after the Denver Monday night win. The Texans should fall a slot or two on this game and may see more change after their week 8 game against the Detroit Lions . They are not the same team the Chiefs played in week 2.
