Lions hire Kyle O'Brien as new director of player personnel

Detroit Lions general manager Bob Quinn is making moves. Shortly after deciding to stick with Jim Caldwell at head coach, he hired former Jacksonville Jaguars director of college scouting Kyle O’Brien to serve as the team's director of player personnel.

Via Lions senior writer Tim Twentyman:

Quinn and O'Brien worked together in the New England Patriots' scouting department from 2002-2011. After they split, O'Brien spent one season with the Kansas City Chiefs (2012) and then went on to Jacksonville.

Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell praised the job O'Brien did in their front office.

Via Jaguars senior manager of public relations Tad Dickman:

Now reunited in Detroit, Quinn and O'Brien will try to replicate the success they experienced together in New England.
