Landon Collins Seals Giants Win With Big Interception (Video)

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is no stranger to costly interceptions, and New York Giants safety Landon Collins was there to capitalize late in Week 11.

The New York Giants improved their record to 7-3 with a home victory over the Chicago Bears, as a Sterling Shepard touchdown reception was enough to move them to a 22-16 that they would not relinquish.

A rookie scored the game-winning touchdown for the Giants, but a much-improved second-year pro in Landon Collins had the game-sealing play late in the fourth quarter.

Cutler needed to make something happen on second-and-29 with less than two minutes remaining, but I don’t know why he tried to go for this play. Even if Alshon Jeffery weren’t suspended for PEDs and that throw was targeted to him instead of Marquess Wilson, their wasn’t a prayer of the Bears coming away with a completion on that throw.

As per usual, Cutler forced the ball into a large body of defensive players, and the always opportunistic Landon Collins pounced. Collins’ fourth-quarter takeaway gives him his fifth interception of the season and all five of them have come in the last four games.

The interception-fest started in London, courtesy of Case Keenum. If you recall, one of his interceptions in that game was one of the greatest pick-sixes you will see in your entire life.

Collins is becoming one of the NFL’s best safeties and this game-sealing interception of Cutler is just the latest highlight-reel play he can put on his resume. The former second-round pick out of Alabama was a liability in coverage last season, but he has been the best player in the Giants secondary in 2016.
