Kyle Long gets first career start at right tackle vs. Packers
The Chicago Bears had a fluid offensive line situation coming into Week 1, and on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers they went with Kyle Long over Charles Leno Jr. as the starting right tackle. As a result, Vladimir Ducasse came off the bench to start at right guard.
This is a totally new venture for Long, as Kevin Fishbain of ChicagoFootball.com points out.
Long, 26, is in his third season and before Sunday had only lined up at guard for the Bears. He was a first-round pick in 2013 (20th overall) and was a Pro Bowler in each of his first two years in the NFL.
His first day at tackle will be a test against a tough division rival.
